Description

Morellino di Scansano Podere 414, is a wine of wines that is to all intents and purposes among the prestigious reds of Tuscany. A symbol of the rougher Maremma Grossetana, a land with a very low impact of economic activities and a natural oasis close to the idea of preservation, as considered by the European Union. The vines are bush-trained, and together with other native varieties, are located on hill ridges not too far from the sea. The artisanal dimension and the desire to respect the surrounding territory have led the winery to adopt organic management in the vineyard and the utmost care, so as not to distort the product, in the cellar.

Vinification
Traditional method, in thermo-conditioned cement vats and small truncated conical wooden vats, only indigenous yeasts (pied de cuve) are used for fermentation, prolonged maceration time on the skins (15-20 days) at controlled temperatures of 27-29°C. Polyphenol extraction is achieved through frequent pumping over alternating with délestages.

Refinement
All the wine is aged in wood for 12 months in small (25 hl) and 500 l tonneaux.

Tasting Notes In the glass it is a deep, intense ruby red colour. The nose is characterised by primary aromas of red fruit that are integrated with perceptions of spice, discreetly complemented by woody notes. The palate is clean, ample and rounded yet lively thanks to a balanced acidity.
