Description

Lungocosta Bolgheri Bianco di Caccia al Piano, is a wine produced in limited quantities. A wine that expresses immediate pleasantness without sacrificing excellent ageing potential.

Vinification
Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand, in small 15 kg crates, and begins in the first few days of September, depending on the variety, in order to reach the desired phenolic ripeness depending on the seasonal trend. For the Vermentino, whole grapes are softly pressed, while the Sauvignon blanc is destemmed and cold macerated in an inert environment. The musts are fermented slowly at a controlled temperature of 15°C.

Refinement
The two varieties are matured separately for 9 months, the Vermentino in small 10hl barrels while the Sauvignon Blanc in oak barriques. After this period, blending takes place where it rests for a further 3 months in the same wine vats before being bottled and marketed.

Tasting Notes In the glass it is a very pale straw yellow colour with a slight greenish tinge. The nose is intense and complex, hints of acacia and Mediterranean scrub, with an aftertaste of ripe yellow fruit. Fresh and juicy on the palate, well balanced, the oak is clearly noticeable, long finish.
