Caccia al Piano
The Tenuta Caccia al Piano winery was born in 2003, when at the beginning of the 2000s, Franco Ziliani, owner of the Guido Berlucchi and pioneer of the birth of the Classic Method in Franciacorta in the 60s, decided to bet on an emerging territory such as that of Bolgheri in Tuscany with the aim of trying their hand at making great red wines after visiting the San Biagio vineyard, a wonderful area that enjoys a privileged position in the Bolgheri area and a fascinating view of the sea. The desire to patiently understand the Bolgheri area, respecting what has already been done by the great protagonists who made the wine of these lands famous, has guided Franco Ziliani's work from the beginning, today carried on by his children Cristina, Arturo and Paul. The estate is located in Castagneto Carducci in the hamlet of Bolgheri and was born from the restructuring of an ancient hunting fiefdom owned by the noble Della Gherardesca family, dated 1868. The Bolgheri terroir, over the years, has given ample proof of being able to donate both great satisfaction and pleasantness in youth, is able to challenge time with enthusiasm and balance. Following in the footsteps of this tradition, Caccia al Piano carries on a production philosophy that seeks to enhance the individual crus available, as well as the blend between different vineyards
