Description

Ruit Hora, historic Bolgheri Rosso from the Caccia al Piano winery is named after a poem by Giosuè Carducci, testifying to the sense of belonging to the territory of Castagneto, the birthplace of the famous poet. A blend composed of all grapes from the winery's various crus. Able to fully reveal structure and complexity typical of the Bolgheri amphitheatre.

Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 15 kg crates, with separate harvesting by variety and plot. Careful selection of the grapes preceded destemming, followed by maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. This was followed by alcoholic fermentation, which lasted about two weeks, followed by racking and malolactic fermentation.

Refinement
After about 16 months of maturation in 35/50hl oval casks and barriques, the individual batches were blended and the wine was aged for a further 6 months in the bottle.

Tasting Notes	In the glass it has a brilliant ruby red colour. The nose is very broad with intense fragrances of dark berry fruit, cassis to notes of tobacco and oak bark. The palate is harmonious and balanced with sweet and silky tannins, perfectly integrated with good acidity. The fresh dark fruit binds to a light spiciness with a long, pleasant finish.
