Description

Castello di Titigliano Orvieto Classico Superiore della Tenuta di Salviano, is a wine that comes to life in the extraordinary Tiber River Park in Umbria. It takes its name from the ancient castle that towers above the village of the same name and from which one can enjoy an extraordinary panorama of Lake Corbara. The land on which the vines grow gives the wine an unmistakable mineral and savoury stamp that characterises all expressions of the area. The vines lie on the southern side of the lake, where the climate is cooler and the white grapes are able to ripen to perfection. The vines, which are about 20 years old, are rooted on tufaceous soils, with a good component of skeleton, at an altitude of between 150 and 500 metres.

Vinification
Harvesting is manual, in boxes, following the different ripening periods between the end of August and the first half of September. Once in the cellar and after destemming, the grapes undergo a soft crushing. The must ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 18° C.

Refinement
This is followed by ageing of the wine on the fine lees for 5-6 months to enrich its organoleptic characteristics.
