Description

Tenuta Guado al Tasso's Vermentino di Antinori is produced in the small and prestigious DOC area of Bolgheri, on the coast of Alta Maremma, about one hundred kilometres south-west of Florence. Tenuta Guado al Tasso covers an area of about 320 hectares under vine in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheatre" for its particular conformation. The first vintage produced of Vermentino at Tenuta Guado al Tasso was 1996.

Vinification
Harvesting took place from mid- to late September, in a staggered manner as usual, so that the grapes harvested initially are richer in acidity and floral aromas while those harvested later show riper berries concentrated in extract and citrus aromas. Each parcel was harvested separately in order to enhance the complex territorial characteristics of each vineyard. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were destemmed, gently crushed and softly pressed. The must obtained was transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a temperature of 16°C.

Refinement
The different batches were carefully and regularly evaluated and blended. Then it was bottled in the early winter months.

Tasting Notes In the glass it has a straw yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose expresses a fine aromatic intensity, with hints of citrus fruits, white flowers and tropical fruit. On the palate, it is savoury and of good persistence, with a fresh and pleasantly citrusy finish.
Pairing Advice
Pairing Ideal for a fresh aperitif. Excellent with seafood meals, such as pasta with mussels and shellfish, fish soups and grilled and raw fish. Try it with fresh soft cheeses.
