Description

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Rialzi Frescobaldi, is the highest expression of this grape variety in the Chiantigiano area, produced by the family. The Perano Estate was strongly sought after and desired by the Frescobaldi family, and this plot called the Rialzi vineyard was chosen, which stands at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level and above the others, positioned on three natural terraces with alberese soils and a south-westerly exposure.

Vinification
After careful work in the vineyard, the grapes were carefully harvested by hand. Once in the cellar, they underwent further careful selection. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with pellicular maceration and gentle pumping over to allow the best polyphenol extraction.

Refinement
The wine then matured for 36 months, 24 of which in barriques. Only after further bottle ageing was it ready for release.

Tasting Notes In the glass it has a brilliant, deep ruby red colour with light garnet reflections. Its bouquet is extremely broad and elegant at the same time. Notes of undergrowth stand out above all others, accompanied by fruity sensations of sour cherry. Among the floral notes, rose prevails, the spicy sensation refers to juniper and cinnamon. The nose concludes with delicate tertiary notes, perfectly integrated into the body of the wine. Balanced, warm and dry in the mouth. The tannin is soft and silky. Extremely long and persistent finish.
Pairing Advice
Pairing An excellent companion to accompany an entire meal. First courses with meat sauce, second courses of stewed meat, game and grilled meat, but also suitable to be enjoyed with mature cheese, and dishes with traditional cured meats.
