Caseificio Sociale di Manciano
The Caseificio Sociale di Manciano is a Cooperative Agricultural Society founded in 1961 by 21 local farmers. What united them was the desire to valorise the production of sheep's milk from the Maremma hinterland of the province of Grosseto, where sheep-farming has been one of the main sources of livelihood for centuries and has been handed down from generation to generation. The dairy was initially built in the town of Manciano, then moved in 1986 to Piano di Cirignano, an area in the open countryside situated in the hills of the Maremma, in symbiosis with nature and the surrounding landscape. Attention to the environment and animal welfare are values that have always characterised the company. The production is very varied and stands out for its quality and genuineness. This is confirmed by all the 'classic' fresh and mature sheep's milk cheeses, starting with Pecorino Toscano DOP, capable of exalting the flavours of the Maremma and the unique bond with this land. They are joined by the most delicious and 'refined' cheeses, the fruit of continuous investments in product improvement and also able to satisfy special nutritional requirements related to food intolerances.
