Description
Nobile di Montepulciano Tenuta La Braccesca, is made from 90% Sangiovese and the remaining 10% Merlot. In this red wine, the determined and strong character typical of this grape variety coexists with the textural softness and plumpness of Merlot, which participates in a small but fundamental part in the blend.
Vinification
The Merlot was harvested from mid-September while the Sangiovese was picked during the first few days of October. The grapes, harvested separately by variety, were destemmed and softly crushed and transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 28°C to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Maceration, which lasted 10 days, was managed in a controlled manner with interventions aimed at enhancing the structure, extracting only the sweetest tannins.
Refinement
The resulting wine was transferred into large barrels, where malolactic fermentation took place and where, from the spring following the harvest, the maturation process began, lasting approximately 12 months. Following bottling, which took place in the spring of 2020, the wine underwent further ageing for approximately one year.

Sommelier Suggestion | Remarkable already if drunk now, but we suggest letting it rest in the cellar to reach full and harmonious maturity, with important aromatic evolutions. Ageing capacity of more than 5 years. |
Tasting Notes | In the glass it has a ruby red colour. The nose expresses pleasant fruit aromas, sensations of raspberry and plum combine with sweet notes reminiscent of vanilla. On the palate it is well balanced, soft, marked by silky, ripe tannins. The finish is long and persistent. |
Pairing Advice | |
Pairing | A versatile wine, it can be enjoyed throughout a meal. First courses with elaborate sauces, stewed or grilled red meat, fatty white meat and game. Try it with mature or blue cheese and traditional cured meats. |
