Description
Montefalco Rosso Riserva Perticaia, is an elegant wine representative of Umbria's green heart. For years now, the winery's aim has been to enhance the terroir while respecting the environment and exalting tradition, resulting in a wine made from a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Typical Grapes of Montefalco and 15% Colorino.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at different times according to variety. Once in the cellar, the bunches are pressed, with cold maceration for 48 hours. Fermentation is started by yeasts that are naturally present on the grapes. Contact with the skins lasts for about 18 days.
Refinement
Maturation takes place in small French oak barrels for 24 months after blending the varieties. It then goes into steel for 6 months and after bottling the wine matures for a further 6 months.

Tasting Notes | In the glass it is an intense ruby red colour with garnet hues. The nose is rich, with ripe fruit with hints of currant, raspberry and cassis, all enhanced by spicy notes of pepper, thyme and vanilla. In the mouth it is complex and powerful, endowed with great body and an excellent structure that is accentuated by clearly noticeable tannin, the finish is long and pleasantly intense. |
