Antonelli
Cantina Antonelli is one of the longest-running companies of the denomination, Antonelli San Marco has been owned by the family of the same name since 1881. Made up of 190 hectares in a single corpus in the center of the D.O.C.G. di Montefalco, since 2009 has made the full conversion to certified organic farming for all productions. The clayey soils rich in limestone, with different geological origins, form austere hills surrounded by woods, with an ideal microclimate for vines, about fifty hectares are destined to vineyards, oriented mainly to the south and west. We grow native varieties: Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino for the whites, Sangiovese, and Sagrantino for the reds Sagrantino di Montefalco and Rosso di Montefalco. At the center of the company, just below the old manor house, is the cellar, completely underground and designed for gravity vinification. A structure with a low environmental impact that provides for the entry of the pressed grapes into the fermenters, and the subsequent discharge of the pomace, without the use of pumps, but by gravity, ensuring greater control of the first delicate phases of fermentation and maceration, as well as a saving of energy resources
