Description
Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta di Collosorbo, is obtained from a meticulous selection of Sangiovese grapes from the best vineyards on the estate. It is the result of scrupulous work done in the vineyard and of targeted interventions in the cellar that, in respect and worship of an ancient tradition, preserve the integrity of the fruit and enhance the quality of a wine that is renewed in history and over time in every bottle.
Vinification
The best grapes are checked for ripeness and selected from 2 to 3 passages, harvested by hand in small baskets, quickly transferred to the vinification cellar for further selection of the bunches on the sorting belt. Soft crushing and destemming is carried out, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature with frequent pumping over, long maceration on the skins, with repeated tastings and chemical analyses to determine the best time for racking.
Refinement
Maturation takes place in large Slavonian and French oak barrels of 12 to 54 hectolitres for about 3 years, followed by ageing in the bottle for at least 8 months.

Sommelier Suggestion | We recommend pouring the wine into the decanter for a few hours to allow it to aerate and awaken all the aromas. This wine is one of the great Italian red wines particularly suitable for ageing. Remarkable already if drunk now, but we suggest to let it rest in the cellar to reach a full and harmonious maturity, with important aromatic evolutions. Ageing capacity of over 15 years. |
Tasting Notes | In the glass it is an intense ruby red colour, without fines, slight garnet-coloured nuances are noticeable. The nose is complex, offering an opening on over-ripe fruity notes such as black cherry and cherry, followed by spicy aromas of liquorice and undergrowth. On the palate one immediately senses an important structure, which develops into a warm and elegant, balanced sip with a long and persistent finish |
Pairing Advice | |
Pairing | An excellent companion to accompany an entire meal. First courses with meat sauce, second courses of stewed meat, game and grilled meat, but also suitable to be enjoyed with blue cheese. |
