Description

Rosso di Montalcino Le Ragnaie, is produced from grapes cultivated according to organic methods. It is a really interesting wine because it allows us to appreciate the rich and deep taste of the Montalcino territory without the austerity of Brunello and at a more accessible price. This Rosso di Montalcino sums up the specific characteristics of the vine, cultivated here in one of the highest points of the Montalcino district at about 600 metres above sea level, with grapes harvested in different positions on the hillside, within the vineyards of Lago, Fonte and Cappuccini. The high altitude gives the wines produced here an aromatic profile of great elegance, less muscular and finer than the canons of Montalcino.

Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. During maceration with the skins, frequent manual pumping over is carried out. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Refinement
It matures in large Slavonian oak barrels for 13 months.

Tasting Notes In the glass it shows a transparent ruby red colour with garnet hues. The nose reveals notes of fleshy red fruit followed by sensations of cocoa, tobacco, macerated flowers and leather. In the mouth it offers a full-bodied and satisfying taste, which moves fresh and fruity to the balsamic finish.
Pairing Advice
