Description

Arnione Bolgheri Superiore di Campo alla Sughera, is produced in the splendid inland area of the Tuscan coast. A wine with an unmistakable identity, elegant, refined, synthesis and summa of the perfection of each parcel of Campo alla Sughera, whose best grapes we harvest and vinify. Arnione is the alabaster ovum that the soils of the Costa Etrusca yield in magnificent underground specimens. A geological poem that in the shape of the circle holds the secret of perfection and gives life to the symbol that characterises all Campo alla Sughera labels.

Vinification
Fermentation takes place separately in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 °C for about 20-25 days.

Refinement
Matured for 18 months in oak barriques and tonneaux, followed by further ageing in the bottle for at least 24 months.

Sommelier Suggestion We recommend pouring the wine into the decanter for a few hours to allow the wine to aerate to awaken all the aromas. This wine is one of the great Italian red wines particularly suitable for ageing. Remarkable already if drunk now, but we suggest to let it rest in the cellar to reach a full and harmonious maturity, with important aromatic evolutions. Ageing capacity of over 20 years.
Tasting Notes In the glass it is a dense ruby red colour. On the nose it expresses great and profound aromatic complexity, with balsamic notes of eucalyptus, bitter orange, black cherry, ripe strawberry, complemented by an air of Mediterranean maquis and spices. In the mouth it is extremely elegant, fine, structured and soft, pleasantly savoury, with a surprising finish of ripe red fruit. It reveals at every taste the happy complexity of Bolgheri, the freshness of the sea and the structure of its mighty hills.
Pairing Advice
Pairing It goes well with long, slow-cooked red meat main courses such as salmi, peposi, braised meats. But also grilled with fine cuts. It loves game such as wild boar stew or roast duck. It prefers cheeses of long and very long maturation.
