Sommelier Suggestion | We recommend pouring the wine into the decanter for a few hours to allow it to aerate and awaken all the aromas. This wine is one of the great Italian red wines particularly suitable for ageing. Remarkable already if drunk now, but we suggest to let it rest in the cellar to reach a full and harmonious maturity, with important aromatic evolutions. Ageing capacity of over 20 years. |
Tasting Notes | In the glass it has an intense ruby red colour. The nose is intense and complex with light hints of plum, violet cherry and ripe undergrowth fruit, intense but balanced are the hints of spice, vanilla and cinnamon and tobacco. In the mouth it is tannic, fresh but not aggressive, savoury, red fruit flavours with a finish of orange peel. |
Pairing Advice | |
Pairing | Pairing with game, important red meats such as steaks or with stewed meats, it also goes very well with slightly matured or very matured fresh cheeses |
