The Bigagnoli winery is located on the eastern shores of Lake Garda, in the Veneto municipality of Calmasino di Bardolino. A place that for centuries seems to have been designed for the cultivation of vines, where the breezes of the lake disperse between the gentle hills and the first alps that plunge into Lake Garda. Nature dominates the landscape, punctuated by ancient villages and medieval castles. It was in these lands that this young company, founded by Alessio Bigagnoli, was born in 2012. A long, hard and tiring job, which began in the garage of the house with a few bottles and which today counts a highly appreciated production. It all began when Alessio in 2012 took his AKA, a Bardolino Chiaretto Metodo Classico, to the Garage Wine Contest in Genoa and won first place. At that moment Alessio, driven by the confirmations he had just received at the fair, realised that that garage could become a real wine cellar. Courage, determination and strength were the elements the young boy needed to attempt a new and exciting adventure. The starting point was the vineyard belonging to his father Raffaello and brother Giuseppe. He inherited it and began to work it himself right up to the grape harvest. The vinification phase was supervised by his friend Renato Corradini, who allowed him to officially realise the project. Today the vineyards, which are 20-30 years old, extend over an area of 5000 square metres and are planted with the typical grapes of the area Corvina, Rondinella, Garganega, Molinara and Oseleta. They stand on hilly terrain of morainic origin and are trained using the pergola system. In the cellar, they are softly pressed, delicately vinified and aged in steel to preserve all the vinous and fruity part of the grapes. Brigagnoli wines are fresh, delicate and juicy extracts from Lake Garda, to be appreciated at a young age. Bardolino, in its red, sparkling and claret guises, is the star of the production and is characterised by a surprising quality price ratio. These are bottles with a high gastronomic vocation, perfect for the everyday table and easily paired with a wide range of dishes. For a unique and territorial experience, we recommend accompanying them with local dishes based on the lake's catch.
