Bolognami's Easter Sour Cocktail is a delicious creation that celebrates the flavors of Easter, using the traditional Colomba Pasquale (Easter Dove cake) from Il Forno di Pioppi, available on the Bolognami Store, as its main ingredient. Easter Sour is a mix of sweetness and bold flavors: the cocktail's base is made from an infusion of Colomba Pasquale and Rum, which gives the drink a warm and enveloping alcoholic note; the Lime juice adds a fresh and citrusy touch, perfectly balancing with the Sugar Syrup and making the drink even more pleasant on the palate. Easter Sour Cocktail Recipe

The star of the Easter Sour recipe is the Traditional Colomba di Pasqua from Il Forno di Pioppi: this product is created within the artisan production workshop of Mantignana, in the province of Perugia. A symbol of peace and rebirth, the Colomba is the quintessential Easter sweet: prepared with care and high-quality ingredients, it boasts an irresistible softness, an enveloping flavor, and an elegant design, making it a true work of visual art. This Colomba undergoes a 36-hour leavening process at a controlled temperature, with several kneading stages and artisan processing with manual rounding, in full respect of tradition, followed by baking and patient resting upside down to avoid ruining its structure. Inside, the honeycomb texture encloses delicious cubes of candied Sicilian orange, candied diamond citron, and Australian raisins, which accompany and enrich the aromatic notes of Belgian butter and Bourbon vanilla. To make the Easter Sour cocktail, we use the Traditional type of Colomba, but on the Bolognami store you can find other exquisite variations, with chocolate, fig and walnut, pistachio, and Bacio Perugina flavors, all to try!

Ingredients

  • Artisan Traditional Colomba Il Forno di Pioppi
  • 50 ml of Colomba-Infused Rum
  • 20 ml of Lime Juice
  • 15 ml of Sugar Syrup
  • Ice

Cocktail Preparation

To prepare Bolognami's Easter Sour Cocktail, cut a slice of Traditional Colomba Pasquale Il Forno di Pioppi, reduce it into small pieces, and place them in a container. Take some Dark Rum and pour it generously into the container where you put the Colomba pieces. Blend everything with an immersion blender until you obtain a liquid mixture. After letting our mix rest for at least a day, proceed to filter it. Put ice in a shaker, pour in 5 cl of the Colomba-infused rum, add 3 cl of lime juice and 1.5 cl of sugar syrup. Shake vigorously and pour the mixture into a cocktail glass, adding a small piece of Colomba as a garnish. Our drink is ready, cheers and Happy Easter!
