Despite less than favourable weather, from 1st to 3rd April Agriumbria confirmed expectations with a Sunday in line with 2019, the record year for the agriculture, zootechnics and food fair. There are many reasons for the success of this edition, first and foremost the signing of the protocol (with Aia, Anacli and Anabic) sanctioning Agriumbria as the Italian meat hub. An agreement that further strengthens Agriumbria's role in the organisation of national competitions and exhibitions linked to the promotion of Italian breeds, with particular attention to beef cattle breeds.

While waiting for the official count of the numbers (which will take place only in the next few days), there is great optimism among the pavilions of the regional exhibition centre. All the organising staff are very satisfied with the success of such a large event (the exhibition square metres have increased compared to 2019), which on Sunday (according to the first flow analyses) is confirming the turnout of 2019. A figure that alone projects the 2022 edition as that of the restart for the event (the first for the livestock sector in Italy), the largest in Umbria.

As Lazzaro Bogliari, president of Umbriafiere Spa, explains: "We are happy with what happened during these three days. In spite of the less than favourable weather, we welcomed a large number of trade members, farmers, breeders and families to the fair. Sunday's flows were in line with those of the record edition and this today, in this uncertain socio-economic context, is a result to be framed. Just like the words of the national and local institutions which recognise the value of Agriumbria and Umbriafiere. This is an event that makes "little Umbria" the centre of the national agricultural scene. A result which is the result of teamwork between the organisers, institutions, agricultural companies and trade associations".

And Agriumbria is a phenomenon widely recognised by the main Italian stakeholders and operators, who find in this exhibition the main place for agreements, business and projects.

A huge number of people from all parts of Italy (the largest number from the Centre and South) arrived at the Bastia Umbra exhibition centre from the early hours of Sunday. Many operators, but also many families with children who, as per tradition, literally invaded the animal aisles, especially the cattle ones.

As explained by the Italian Breeders' Association: "Agriumbria confirms itself as one of the best showcases of Made in Italy selection, especially for beef cattle. Excellent results also for the auctions with a top price for Chianina heifers which reached € 3,700".

Sunday saw the presentation of the energy independent farm at the exhibition. Franco Cotana, Department of Engineering of the University of Perugia, and Alessandro Zilli, business manager alternative fuels of New Holland, presented projects for the circular economy of agricultural enterprises with operational models and an analysis of the performance of the T6 Methane Power tractor (exhibited at the fair), the first biomethane tractor produced in series worldwide.
