Description

Merlot Poggio Stella, is produced with 100% Merlot grapes, harvested when fully ripe on the vineyards along the hills of the province of Cortona and Arezzo with guyot and cordon spur training system with a planting density of 3500/5000 plants per hectare for 90 quintals of annual yield. Here we can find a prevalently hilly terrain, with a good presence of skeleton.

Vinification
Once the hand-picked grapes arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and crushed, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation and maceration in stainless steel vats.

Refinement
Maturation takes place for at least 6 months in wood, followed by refinement in the bottle for at least 3 months.

Tasting Notes In the glass, it has an intense ruby red colour with golden hues. The nose is ample, continuous and very persistent, reminiscent of red berry fruits together with pleasant hints of vanilla and liquorice, highlighting, at the same time, herbaceous notes typical of the vine. It enters the mouth as velvet, harmonious and savoury, transmitting in its complexity, a taste of vanilla combined with notes of jam and spices.
